Morro da Cruz - framed

$95.00

Acrylics on canvas panel, framed.

9x12 inches.

“Morro da Cruz” is the unofficial name of this hill in my hometown. There’s this giant white cross at the very top, and you can see it from almost anywhere in town. As a teenager, we used to love going up there, bring a snack, a chimarrão, and just hanging out. We could see the entire valley. But it gets better - my hometown? It’s called Igrejinha, which translates as “little church”. A giant cross over a hill in a town named little church. I promise I didn’t make this up lol.

I miss this place everyday. I see so many people that leave and dread going back. I’ve seen many that think they outgrew it. I truly miss it. I didn’t always have the best memories there, and growing up there I used to dream of getting out but, at the same time, some of my best memories happened there. Now that I am out, I look back at it with love - and I do really love it every time I go back. It isn’t *just* nostalgia.
